4 POEMS by MAYA ANGELOU
For more love poems, check out our Love and Sad Poems.
These love poems by Maya Angelou all have a sense of quiet longing, a theme that runs through much of her work.
When You Come
When you come to me, unbidden,
Beckoning me
To long-ago rooms,
Where memories lie.
Offering me, as to a child, an attic,
Gatherings of days too few.
Baubles of stolen kisses.
Trinkets of borrowed loves.
Trunks of secret words,
I Cry.
A Conceit
Give me your hand
Make room for me
to lead and follow
you
beyond this rage of poetry.
Let others have
the privacy of
touching words
and love of loss
of love.
For me
Give me your hand.
Passing Time
Your skin like dawn
Mine like musk
One paints the beginning
of a certain end.
The other, the end of a
sure beginning.
Touched by an Angel
We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.
Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls
We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love's light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free
These romantic poems use symbols and similes to elucidate Maya's romantic ideal. This style makes these poems perfect for using in a love letter, or to recite to a loved one.
They evoke a universal need for caring and closeness, those qualities that are the point and triumph of a romantic relationship.

NUMERO DOCE
I had the chance to hang-out last night with a very good old friend Shella, together with her friend also..we landed on Mango Avenue, it was still early like 9pm and it was Tuesday so there is no crowd to avoid unless its TGIF or Saturday.
We strolled around for a while and then stopped at numerodoce, we went in and sat down for a while and ordered our drink...my old friend is feeling adventurous so she ordered JAPANESE slippers..as the menu said. I really do not have any idea what is in it but i gave it a shot..and true indeed it was good!
It was then too late that we realized that its a bar for MAYA'S..no wonder there is a group of guys that are so loud and yes playing games...daghan na cguro nainum...and yes they are all gays...and we enjoyed wathing them have soo much fun...while we are having shots of slippers..hehehehe..until next time..to where my feet will lead me.

PARKMALL: the newest hip place in CEBU
PARKMALL is situated in North Reclamation Area just beside Cebu International Convention Center. what i love about this mall is that it is spacious in terms of parking areas..as the name suggests and the stores surrounding it are as varied as the people of Cebu...and PIERONE is really outstanding like a ship on the dock...so friends what are you waiting for? come visit this place if you are looking for a new hangout especially this Christmas season.

So what is your Gift to yourself this Christmas?
I know that we all want something somehow right? Maybe it could be a new shoes, new clothes, new phones, new car, or anything material that we can make us happy and glad. But aside from those things we also ask for gifts that could not be bought in stores, that could not be wrapped and hey..cannot even be seen. A simple thought would do, that will be something more special, more meaningful and it could last a lifetime.
Me? if you ask me what i want this Christmas? PAtience and more understanding, patience because i easily loose my temper and i lash out in just a matter of seconds and more understanding of course because we parents always think that we are right all the time not knowing that we fail to listen to our children...we even sometimes play GOD that we know everything...those two mentioned above i ask and pray that the LORD will grant me this Christmas season...MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND HAVE A FRUITFUL NEW YEAR ahead!
